… about Māori wisdom keeper Hato Siaki

Hato is a daughter of Ngai Tuhoe and Ngati Kahungungu tribes of Aotearoa NZ. She is the descendant of Tribal leaders and Healers. Taiha, her eldest sister and Hato are both Healers and Social Worker who travel extensively, nationally and internationally to share and teach their *Mahi and their Culture. Hato is the youngest daughter of Pomare Heemi and Rarauhe Rakuraku.

She was born in Gisborne and even though she was raised with her 4 brothers and 3 sisters in TeKaraka, amongst the people of the Aitangi a Mahaki tribe, her eldest sister Taiha and Hato were totally immersed in their Tuhoe language and their Tuhoe cultural practices of healing and spirituality, where karakia-prayers and rituals were performed on a daily basis and the acknowledgment and connection to their Ancestors were paramount to their wellbeing.
